AI can assist the work of publishing. It cannot turn an untested claim into evidence.
Permitted assistance
ChalkBench may use AI to explore questions, organize research, outline material, suggest wording and assist editing. The site’s foundation copy and structure were prepared with AI assistance. That does not mean a tool has been tested or that every statement has received an independent expert review.
Human responsibility
Recommendations, scores and hands-on observations require human editorial review before publication. A reviewer must verify material claims, examine the actual evidence and take responsibility for the conclusion. AI output alone is not a primary source.
Claims we will not manufacture
- Personal or classroom experience that did not occur.
- Product testing, scores or time savings without evidence.
- Prices, statistics, quotations, qualifications or endorsements.
- Invented sources, screenshots or representative sample results.
Student information and source material
Editorial testing should use synthetic examples or appropriately approved, de-identified material. Do not submit confidential school information or identifiable student records to an unapproved AI service. Confirm rights and permissions before uploading third-party content.
Images and demonstrations
Illustrations must not be presented as genuine product screenshots or documentary evidence. If a synthetic visual could be mistaken for a real test result, label it clearly. Product observations should be supported with authentic records where sharing is permitted.
Review and correction
AI-assisted text needs the same checks for accuracy, bias, originality and readability as other material. Mistakes should be corrected under the editorial policy. The testing framework explains the separate standards for future product reviews.
