How links will be disclosed
Pages containing affiliate links should carry a clear disclosure close to the recommendation or before the relevant links. A site-wide policy alone is not a substitute for a useful notice at the point of decision. Affiliate links should use appropriate sponsored-link attributes.
What commissions cannot buy
Commissions must not determine a winner, score or ranking. A product’s limitations remain relevant even when an affiliate program is available. Products without affiliate programs may be covered when they are useful to educators.
Vendor access and sponsorship
If a vendor supplies a subscription, device or other review access, the coverage should disclose that arrangement. Sponsored material must be clearly labeled. A vendor should not be promised a favorable editorial verdict in exchange for access or payment.
